Supportive Trauma Informed Therapy for Major Life Changes
Life Transitions
Everyone goes through periods of gradual or sudden transition in their life during which change becomes inevitable. When presented with the unknown, it can be overwhelming to try to face challenges alone. I provide much-needed guidance and support to help clients through confusing and uprooting transitional phases.
Examples of common life transitions include:
- Losing a job or changing careers
- Getting married or having children
- Graduation from high school or college
- Losing a loved one
- Moving or settling
Sometimes dealing with unfamiliar territory or leaving behind comforting habits can result in anxiety, uncertainty, and doubt, or a feeling of being unwillingly displaced. It can also bring up new or uncomfortable emotions that someone might not be equipped to deal with effectively.
How Can A Therapist Help With Life Transitions?
An experienced therapist can help people gain more perspective or clarity as well as a greater sense of empowerment. One way to feel more prepared is to explore potential issues and areas of discomfort in a safe space equipped with proper support. I also help my clients develop action plans to progress their goals and become unstuck. At the end of the day, clients will feel less overwhelmed and more capable of achieving their goals.
